Every parent will agree that the rate at which children outgrow clothes is alarmingly fast!  Clothes and shoes, lovingly bought for our children are too quickly moved out of their wardrobes to make room for new sizes. Children speed through seven sizes of clothing in their first two years of life, and will outgrow over 1500 articles of clothing before they are fully grown!  Knowing this, it is worth considering the best way to mindfully re-purpose your child's outgrown clothes, shoes and accessories so that they have minimal impact on our environment.

Here is our guide to a clean and organised wardrobe for your tyke, inspired by the great Marie Kondo (the Japanese tidying expert and author of The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.) We hope that these tips help you to keep track of your favourite clothes and accessories so your tykes can get the best wear out of their clothing before they grow out of it.

There are lots of body products specifically for babies and children. But not all of them are created equal! Some are packed full of good nutrients that will nourish, repair and protect the skin and many others include unnecessary fillers and ingredients that can cause irritations like rashes and even have potential longer-term effects.

Sarah Garner started Retykle in 2016 to make it easier for busy parents to recycle their gently worn children’s clothes, earn money and make a positive environmental impact by keeping clothes in circulation for longer and out of landfill. While many agree that Christmas is “the most wonderful time of the year”, it does not have the most wonderful outcome for our planet. Christmas encourages mass consumerism which prompts people everywhere to buy more than they need, and create a lot of excess waste. Making more mindful choices about how your family celebrates this year can make a significant difference to the waste sent to landfill at the end of the season.
